Stant 27101 Thermostat Gasket for Kaiser Traveler (1949–1950)

Kaiser-Frazer was the postwar newcomer started by industrialist Henry J. Kaiser in 1945. It built cars until 1955, and surviving Kaisers are prized because so few were made. On the Kaiser side, the catalogs list the Stant 27101 for 10 models from 1947 to 1955.

This page is for one model only: the Kaiser Traveler. It isn't a wall of every car ever made, just yours.

Help choosing the right gasket

The 27101 is a universal 14-hole thermostat gasket from Stant, the kind a mechanic reaches for when the original cut gasket for an older or less common housing is hard to find. The catalogs list its hole diameter at 1.63 inches. Lay your thermostat housing on it, check that the opening and bolt holes line up with your engine's outlet, and trim to fit if needed. Stant cut a different gasket for each housing design, and Don stocks several of them, so check which number your car calls for.

Before you order, match three things: your year, your model, and your engine. Catalogs list fitment by vehicle, but some engines had more than one thermostat housing design over the years. If your old gasket is still in hand, compare its shape and bolt holes, or just ask Don and Kathy. They'll help you sort it out.

Real people behind the parts

In their early web days, Don and Kathy built separate "garages" online, one for Mustangs, one for Chevettes, and one for Corvettes, so that every owner could find their own corner. These pages carry on that idea: every model gets its own page.

These gaskets come from Don's own shelves, in original Stant packaging.

Price is $9.95 plus shipping.

Don and Kathy offer a fair deal for this. Buying for a club, a shop, or a whole fleet of project cars? Even better.
